Recurring Event Event Series: Knit Your First Socks

Knit Your First Socks

March 4 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Have you always wanted to knit socks but have been too intimidated? Stress no more! In this four session class (Saturdays, February 18, 25, March 4 & 11), we will discuss the anatomy of a sock and learn how to knit them cuff down on DPNs using the Ol’ Reliable Top Down Socks pattern by Tanis Lavallee. Each session will teach you a different sock part and by the end of the series you will have a completed sock!

Skills Required: Please know how to cast on, knit and purl. Some experience knitting in the round and/or knitting with small needles would be helpful but not necessary.

Materials to bring from home or purchase:

  • 100g of fingering/sock weight yarn
  • Set of size 1 US 2.25mm or size 1.5 US 2.5mm double pointed needles (or size needed to
    obtain gauge)
  • Stitch markers

To register, please call the shop at 202-714-5667. For all additional class info, go to our FAQ page. Thanks!
